NestAI is a European AI lab for defence delivering an adaptive operating system for modern battlefield operations. The company is expanding to Sweden as part of a broader expansion across the Nordic and Baltic region, with plans to build a team of more than 50 engineers and scientists and open a local office in 2027.

NestAI builds NestOS, an open, modular and interoperable platform that enables defence AI to continuously learn and adapt after deployment across the platforms and systems of different nations. Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Finland, the company has built a team of more than 200 engineers and scientists in just over a year, working with European defence forces and industry including the Finnish Defence Forces, FORCIT and Patria. In June 2026, NestAI signed a Letter of Intent with the Finnish Ministry of Defence and the Estonian Defence Forces to advance joint AI development across borders, with the goal of expanding that cooperation to further nations and partners.

Sweden is in the middle of one of the most significant defence investment accelerations in Europe. Its armed forces, procurement authorities, and defence industry are investing in AI and software-defined systems as the primary driver of future capability. The decisions being made there now will shape the European defence ecosystem for the next decade.
